Our Country tis of thee; sweet land where is thee?

I just wanted to share this email I received from a friend. It really grieved my heart to know where our great land of the free has turn away from our
God. It is really sad. But this email hits it right in the heart and we knew that one day this would happen. In all the scriptures I've been studying I knew it would be soon and "end of days" will be here sooner than we all think. It is our purpose to now to win others to Gods glory!

"From the Desk of Jay Zinn . . . A Word of Encouragement

There is no way to put a good spin on the outcome of the election. America has decided and now we must go on with our lives. It doesn’t mean we stop fighting, stop praying, or stop being engaged in our country as salt and light. But it does mean we are nearer to the return of Christ. This re-election of the president has sealed the fate of America ever having any role in the last days as a superpower. Socialism−the political ideology of the last days−will now wield the leverage in this nation (the world’s last bastion of religious and economic freedom). Not only are we on a fast track toward Europe’s economy, the “global” generation of this hour will witness a rapid progression toward a one-world government, one-world economy, one-world religion and a ten-kingdom empire, supporting a beloved, one-world dictator.

This hope of this election was to prolong the inevitable for the next eight years, to slow it down. This election held the key to avoiding the fiscal cliff, just a little longer. That window is gone. We’ve waited with bated breath to see if the Lord would grant mercy and allow our nation one more chance to turn back to Him, but now we know. The water is under the bridge and we must deal with the consequences. America’s “founding” covenant with God as King has been broken.

The apostle Paul predicted this when he said, “In the last days many will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. …There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God − having a form of godliness but denying its power.”

Paul describes, with these words, why the majority of American’s are fully embracing socialism. His words describe the characteristics of a socialistic people, both secular and religious. This wasn’t an election so much about a candidate as it was about two ideologies, and if America would continue to be that shining city on a hill. The majority has spoken and voted in the party that took God out of its platform. They have rejected God as king, and replaced Him with “big government” to be their savior and sole provider.

There is no getting around the prophecies of scripture which predicted this day would come. It’s just hard to accept that it arrived so quickly, and we now mourn the death of a nation that once stood as a beacon of hope for a free society. The god of this world has blinded the minds of men and women in America. Those who celebrate today will soon turn their shouts and tears of joy into the similar cries of those who will lament the fall of Babylon in Revelation 18 (read it). Today’s winners will see, that yesterday’s victory for socialism became the first day, of the first year, of what will annually be known as “America’s Memorial Day.” But when their joy turns into sorrow, our sorrow will be turned into joy for the harvest of souls, awakened to the deception, and brought into the glorious light of God’s kingdom. That’s the bright side to all of this.

There’s always a bright side for Christians. We are not of this world, only in this world. Temporarily. America’s lifestyle will be lost, yes − but God’s love, hope, and comfort will not. The kingdom of God is alive and well, and it will prevail. The poorest of the poor saints, in other parts of the world, don’t know what it’s like to experience what we have. Yet, they live content in their state because their joy is not found in things or circumstances, but in God. America will lose her riches, but she will not lose the remnant of God’s people who will turn this political travesty for a nation, into victory for Christ’s kingdom.

The kingdom of God always flourishes in poverty and weakness. It will accelerate our hearts toward embracing him. It will teach us to find our joy in God. He is our exceedingly rich and great reward. America’s plight will accelerate God’s light. America’s woes will defeat God’s foes, because trouble, hardship, and difficulty will electrify the complacent church. It will awaken a sleeping giant. And though liberalism and socialism will now prevail politically, God’s kingdom light will expose its darkness and eventually call sinner and saint alike toward his glorious light.

So what can we do now? We pray and run into the arms of God, to know him better. We find our strength in Him and prepare for a revival in the church. A great awakening will come by the end of Obama’s next term, when the fruit of his ideology is on full display. These next four years will force Christians to put off the things that have so easily distracted them from running the race they were meant to run.

The campaigning is done (Hallelujah) and now we know how it was to turn out. God knew. We did our part and voted, but God knew the outcome. He knew what was in men’s hearts. But for us who are finite, there are no more questions, no more doubts now about where America is heading. It’s settled. We now need to get on with doing what citizens from “another world” should do.

1) Get stronger in our intimacy with God.
2) Get stronger in community with the saints.
3) Get ourselves healed and healthy for battle.
4) Get rid of the excess baggage we’ve been carrying.
5) Get back to the basics, and exercise our atrophied, spiritual muscles.
6) Be content with the things we have and make them last longer and go further.
7) Get out of debt and down-size our appetite for things, get lean.
8) Put our faith solely in God, not in the arm of flesh.
And . . .
9) Rejoice in the Lord always − again and again and again.

Today we mourn. Today we grieve. Today we put on sackcloth and ashes. Our inheritance has been turned over to aliens, our home to foreigners, and there is none to free us from their hands. But though sorrow may last through the night, joy comes in the morning.

America’s beacon may be going out, but not God’s kingdom. Not God’s people. America has now been permanently hijacked, but God’s kingdom is not. We are still free, and no political ideology can take our joy and spiritual freedom. They may take our money, our IRA’s, our homes, our church buildings, our religious liberties, our possessions, or kill our bodies, but they will never take away our freedom and joy in Christ.

The kingdom of heaven is not meat or drink, but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. America, in these last days, is temporal. But God’s righteousness, peace, and joy is eternal. Nothing can take this from those whose God is not “government,” but Jesus Christ, the Son of God and light of the world."6

January 11, 2012 Flesh or Spirit?

SCRIPTURE READING:  Genesis 25:52 - 26:16SCRIPTUREGen 25:27-34
The boys grew up, and Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the open country, while Jacob was content to stay at home among the tents. Isaac, who had a taste for wild game, loved Esau, but Rebekah loved Jacob. Once when Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau came in from the open country, famished. He said to Jacob, "Quick, let me have some of that red stew! I'm famished!" (That is why he was also called Edom.) Jacob replied, "First sell me your birthright." "Look, I am about to die," Esau said. "What good is the birthright to me?" But Jacob said, "Swear to me first." So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left. So Esau despised his birthright.
______________________________________________

Now we are getting into the story of a nations being born as God had promised Abraham.  Isaac meets Rebekah and they marry.  She gets pregnant with twins, Jacob (represents Spirit) and Esau (represents Flesh).   Esau is the first born and therefore is entitled to birthrights from his Father Isaac.  But Esau, due to his flesh driven ways, gives up his birthright and gives it to Jacob because he is hungry.  His flesh overrides his desire for a birthright that is an honor for the first born.

Let's think about this a minute.....Our "fleshy" ways always seem to get in the way of our spirit.  We always seem to have a way of wanting the flesh in lieu of the spirt of God.  Have you ever fasted?  Maybe for medical reasons?  Have you ever thought about fasting for a purpose for God?  For God's direction in your life?  Or just for the will of God to try and overcome our human flesh and get down with the spirit of God.  I'm struggling with this right now.  My flesh can be so overpowering that it really is getting in the way.  I think about food, I watch way too much TV,  and it goes on.  The church that I go for classes is going through a church wide fast for direction for the church and for direction in each others lives.  I obtained a copy of the fasting journal in hopes to do the same.  I tried the first day and failed unmercifully.  I really would like to try to over come my flesh from food.  But it seems that ever time I say I can't have something...that's the very thing that I want.
So, I'm going to put it out there.....This weekend I'm going to make a conscience effort to buy grocery that are healthy and go on this 21 day Daniel fast so that I can over come my flesh and get direction in my own life.  Any takers out there?  I'm not going to even try to start this until Sunday.  I have to prepare and make sure I have plenty of fruits, veggies, nuts and grains to be able to do this.

PRAYER
Dear God, I want to give up my flesh and serve you.  My flesh is so strong that I know that it overpowers your spirit that I'm having a hard time hearing you.  Lord help me to be strong in spirit so that my flesh does not mean anything to me any longer.  In Jesus name I pray....Amen.

January 10, 2012 TRUST IN HIM

SCRIPTURE READING:  Genesis 23:1-24:51; Matthew 8:1-17 & Proverbs 3:1-6

SCRIPTURE:
Gen 24:6 & 7
"Make sure that you do not take my son back there," Abraham said.
"The LORD, the God of heaven, who brought me out of my father's household and my native land and who spoke to me and promised me on oath, saying, 'To your offspring I will give this land'—he will send his angel before you so that you can get a wife for my son from there.

Mat 8:10 & 11
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, "Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.

Proverbs 3:5 & 6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
____________________________________________

Wow!!! Today's reading was loaded today.  It is interesting that all the scripture reading had to do with trust and faith in God.  Listening to the reader in the Daily Audio Bible this morning talked about the child like faith in God.  Does anyone remember having that kind of innocent trust when you were a child.  When you believed in anything?  Such innocence.....Why is it that we lose that innocence pertaining our precious God.  I once had that child like faith where I actually heard God and believed that all my dreams would come true.  And it would until something happened and I seem to have lost that child like faith and now struggle with it.  Oh don't get me wrong, I have faith in God but I seem to lean into my own understanding instead of having the FULL FAITH of God's understanding.  I guess it's because suddenly as I have gotten older, LIFE happened.  Trials happened.  Falling out from the grace of God at times in my life happened.  Then I get to thinking, how in the world can God still forgive me, love me and still to this day use me for his will.  As I've gotten older, through my past bad experiences and walking down paths that I shouldn't have, God uses that to help others now.  I know that, I've experienced that and yet I'm still amazed how God loves me.  PEOPLE......GOD LOVES US...GOD LOVES YOU....WITHOUT CONDITIONS!!!  Isn't that amazing?

So why do we struggle with undying faith? Why do we not just trust God in everything that we do?  Because we are human.  The big reason that Jesus came down as a human and died for our sins.  He understands.  A lot of our troubles that we have in life is usually self inflicted and that we do things without talking it over to God first.  If we just talk things over first, God will direct our paths and things will go alot smoother.  May not be what we want, but I promise it will be in the will of God and exactly what we need and better.

PRAYER
Father God, you are our provider, your are our wisdom and knowledge.  Help us to grow in faith and give all situations, problems over to you so that we are in your will.  Helps us to have Abraham's faith that we listen, read your word and know exactly what we are to do through you.  In Jesus name....Amen.

January 9, 2012 The Lord Is Our Shelter

SCRIPTURE READING:  Psalm 9:1-12

SCRIPTURE:  Psalm 9: 9 & 10
The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed,
a refuge in times of trouble.
Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, O Lord do not abandon
those who search for you.

DEFINITION
Oppressed - overwhelmed, unbearable, intolerable, brutal, dishearten, discouraged, repressed, overpowered, treated harshly
_________________________________________________

I love this scripture this morning.  I guess because this morning I woke up with an oppressive headache this morning and this scripture just help soothe me to know that the Lord is by my side and will make it go away.  When I get these headaches, especially in the mornings, I know it's just a way for the devil trying to discourage me from staying in God's word.  Not this morning....I'm going to persevere and get my morning worship done because it will start my day off good.

God is always with us no matter what our situation.  All we have to do is ask him to stay around,  search Him.  I'm so thankful for Him for every moment in my life.  God helps me out with the most menial task to the most difficult ones.  No matter what problems or trials we are going through, God is there by our sides helping us through it.  We just need to ask and give it over to God.  He's our shelter and refuge that we can always trust.

After writing this, I see that my headache is finally easing up.  I knew I needed to persevere through this and God will be here to help me through it. Praise His Holy name!!!!

PRAYER
Oh Precious Father,  please help us in our daily task that he can go smoothly with your help.  I know, personally, I can't go through any minute without your help.  Especially this morning with my pounding headache. I'm sure there are others that are afflicted with oppressions worse than my headache, so please Lord take special care of those who desperately need you.  Your are the God of healing, the God of refuge, the God of love...we reach out to you in Jesus name.....Amen

January 7, 2012 HIDDEN TREASURES

SCRIPTURE READING:  PROVERBS 2:1-5

My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you,
turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding—
indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding,
and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure,
then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.

DEFINITIONS:
Treasure:  wealth, riches, fortunes, value, pride and joy, delight, apple of your eye, pearl, hold dear, cherish, appreciate, precious gems
______________________________________________

As I had mentioned in the beginning, my goal is to discover secrets, mysteries, goals and I believe that this is what God is telling me.  We can now add hidden treasures to our discoveries of more of the "Secrets" that I plan to discover on my yearly journey with God for the year 2012.

Today's scripture is just reaffirming on how to go about finding the treasures of God.  It's all about reading His word, seeking Him in prayer and applying to what we discover.  I love the definition above "apple of your eye".  We are God's apple of His eyes.  He wants us to learn and seek wisdom and knowledge.  He has so many gems of the bible to show and teach us.  This scripture is also telling me I'm going in the right direction in seeking God's knowledge.  I feel this is going to be a journey I will never forget.  I want to share this journey to everyone.  I've been seeking so much knowledge that I've discovered that the year 2012 will be a year that everyone will not forget.  Now don't worry I don't believe the year is coming to an end, but I do believe we will be entering into a new era of life by the end of 2012.  I do believe that everyone really needs to get in God's word and discover what will happen to our political world.  Lot's of activity going on in the Middle East that we need to be very aware of.

In all reality,  I feel everyone should not get complacent with future events that GOD HIMSELF outlines.  We do know that in the Old Testament, we have seen and read that prophecies have happened. And there are prophetic writings of what I believe we will see in the near future.....just saying what I feel.  GET KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM....read your bibles.  If you have a hard time with this, then listen and reflect.  I have posted a link at the top of my blog for an Audio Daily Bible reading.  Listen to it...it only takes 20 minutes a day.  My blogs are going through this one year reading which happens to be on the Audible Bible.  I'm taking passages from that reading to discover my own secrets....Read with me and let's discuss what you secrets God is revealing to you.  I challenge everyone...please subscribe and let's get active in God's word.

PRAYER
Oh Heavenly Father, so many precious treasures that you want so much to reveal.  I love your word, I love you.  Lord, there are individuals out there I know want to learn what you teach and reveal in your written word.  Please find those individuals and bring them to my site and let's discuss your mysteries, your love for us and how to apply in our lives.  Let's share it together.....In Jesus name I pray....Amen

January 4, 2012 Don't Love Your Simple Ways!

SCRIPTURE READING & SCRIPTURE

Proverbs 1:20-23
Out in the open wisdom calls aloud, she raises her voice in the public square;
on top of the wall she cries out, at the city gate she makes her speech:
"How long will you who are simple love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge? Repent at my rebuke! Then I will pour out my thoughts to you, I will make known to you my teachings.
---------------------------------------------------------------

I know this is a very tough one this morning.  But it called aloud to me to think about my own simple minded ways.  I can have a tendency to get simple minded myself.  "Simple" minded in my Bible commentary basically getting lazy in knowledge.  I think based on this scripture that we all have a tendency to not read our bibles and get very complacent about the Word of God.  I know sometimes I just do the act to get it done but don't really chew on the Word and how to reflect His words in my on life.  If we seek God's words then He will teach us and feed us with knowledge that we can't even comprehend.

I know over the years in my own seeking of God's words, I have learned so much.  Discovered alot about me and my own trangressions that I was not even aware of.  God has been conflicting me in my own sins through his loving teachings to carve me into the person He wants me to be.  I think I'm going through that whittling process now.  I think we all have to go through this process to get to the next level of what God wants us to learn.  Sometimes it is a tough learning process to get to that next level.  This past 4 months has been very trying for me and God is really pressing in on me to learn how to keep me quiet, especially during  difficult confrontations.  Not an easy thing for me to do.  I really try hard but before I even think about it, there my mouth runs over.  I hate when that happens.  This is a hard one for me.  But I know it needs to be polished for me to become the person He wants me to be.

PRAYER
Oh precious Father, you are so patient with me when I'm so impatient with life.  You have a lot to teach me and I need to learn to sit still and listen and just keep my mouth shut.  I know you are trying to teach me the wisdom to say the right things and when.  Help me Lord to discern this.  Thank you Father for helping me see this and help me work through this in Jesus name I pray.....Amen

________________________________________________

I thought this verse today was a good verse to use as a New Resolution.   Jesus Christ begins in helping us with any resolution we want to start for the year 2012.  Jesus is the only one that can see to it that any goal that we want to complete for this year.  It begins with Him.  We need to have Jesus in every aspect in our lives.  We need to pray for anything that we need, problems to solve, decisions to make and helping others.  Jesus will help separate the chaff in our lives and thresh out the bad so that we can have a never-ending fire of His love and light.  If we listen and read His Word, the answers will come.  The flour of the wheat will become great things if we allow Jesus in our lives.  He is ready and He is waiting....waiting for us just to knock and ask.

In our church service on Sunday, our associate pastor talked about knocking on Jesus' door to seek and ask through prayer.  Prayer, this is something I personally need to work harder and PUSH (Pray Until Something Happens) for what I need to happen.  PUSH my finances away, PUSH so that I have better health, PUSH that my son will have better job,  PUSH for peace in my soul and that I will no longer have fear in anything and my anxieties of life will go away.  PUSH that Jesus will thresh out the chaff in me and purify me into a fine flour to do His will.  This is my resolution......PUSH!

PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father, I praise and love you.  You are the creator of all things.  You are our resolutions of everything we want to accomplish.  Through my Father all things can be done with your strength.  Refine me, Oh Lord, into a fine flour of your will.  Thresh out the chaff in my life so that I can do your will, in the mighty name in Jesus Christ.....Amen

January 2, 2012 DREAMS

SCRIPTURE READING:  Matthew 2:13 - 3:6

SCRIPTURE:
Matthew 2:13
When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. "Get up," he said, "take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him."

DEFINITION

Dreams
a succession of images, thoughts, or emotions passing through the mind during sleep.
the sleeping state in which this occurs.
an object seen in a dream.
an involuntary vision occurring to a person when awake.
a vision voluntarily indulged in while awake; daydream; reverie.
to think or conceive of something in a very remote way
to indulge reveries
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you dream?  If so, do you remember them?  I have found that if I remember a dream in detail when I wake up it means that I need to think about it in more detail.  If it is a dream that stays on my mind, I believe it to be something that God is trying to say to me.  If I dream a reocurring dream, God is trying to teach me something.  If I dream about someone or a situation, it's usually a conflict that I need to address.  Sometimes I dream that I'm a main character in the dream and sometimes I'm just an outsider looking in the dream.  I do believe at times I dream in color and sometimes I don't.
I believe God talks to us in our dreams.  I use to be more in tune with my dreams and usually can understand the meanings.  Usually due to spiritual growth or conflicts going on in my life   Lately I do not seem to remember in detail most of my dreams but when I do, it's worth investigating and looking into.  Like my dream of "Secrets".  The reason I've decided to research my yearly bible reading/study of secrets, mysteries, dreams etc....

The last couple of nights I've had disturbing dreams about a situation.  It has to do with a conflict that I'm dealing with right now.  A conflict, that really is upsetting me to the point that I want to just throw up.  I've been praying to God to help me with this. In praying about it and thinking about it, I know I need to just listen and be quiet.  In learning about "honor" in my classes, I've discovered that this is something I need to learn.  My dreams are making me aware I just need to relax and let God take over this situation.  I can't do anything about it no matter what I say or do, how much I do, it is in God's hands not mine.

PRAYER
My blessed Father,  I lift you up in praise and love.  I give you honor that you are my comforter, my provider and you will take care of whatever problems I may have.  Lord, I give you my troubling situation for you to handle, for I can no longer handle it.  I no longer want to taste it's bitter vile that is trapped in my gut.  In the name of Jesus, give back the sweet taste of understanding and keep me quiet as necessary.  Thank you sweet Jesus for you everlasting love.  In my precious Jesus name....Amen

January 1, 2012 A NEW BEGINNING

SCRIPTURE READING:  Proverbs 1:1-6

SCRIPTURE:

Proverbs 1: 5&6
Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser.  Let those with understanding receive guidance by exploring the meaning in these proverbs and parable, the words of the wise and their riddles.

DEFINITION:

Riddle:
a question or statement so framed as to exercise one's ingenuity in answering it or discovering its meaning; conundrum. .
a puzzling question, problem, or matter.
a puzzling thing or person.
any enigmatic or dark saying or speech

Happy New Year Everyone!!!  I wish everyone a new bright 2012 year.  May God bless each and everyone of you.
As with every year, we start out on the first with resolutions of diets, exercise, get out debt and all sort of goals that starts out on this day.  I've decided not to even go there because as soon as I try to make promises to myself, I always fail.
I do know one thing....I have missed blogging this past year.  Since I've started The Way Bible College my desire for blogging has really increased.  I have so much to share to everyone.  I'm learning so much.  At college, we were given a S.O.A.P journal that enables you to read the bible through the year.  As I started this morning, discovered that the SOAP journal goes along with my One Year Bible for Women.....Duh....anyway, we shall start "....in the beginning...."  Oh by the way, S.O.A.P stands for Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer.....
This year, I'm going to do something a bit different.  I had a dream several years ago that had the word "SECRET" given to me by Jesus.  So my goal this year, is to discover secrets in the Bible and share what I've discovered.  Being that this is the year of 2012, the most talked about, read about, and controversial year, I thought this would be an interesting study for the "Secrets" of God.
Being that said, this was why the above Proverb verses stuck out for me and  the word "Riddle" I consider as part of the secret to my discovery.  Part of reading the Bible is opening your heart and let God's words flow through you and the Holy Spirit will reveal what God wants you to learn.  God will reveal the secrets He wants us to hear.  Become wise and listen, chew on it, pray on it and receive guidance of what God wants you to learn.  Let God whisper His secrets to you.  I plan to learn as many secrets that He can possibly throw at me this year.
PRAYER
Dear Father God,
You gave me a dream that has been in my thoughts for years.  And this year, I will research all the secrets you plan to reveal to me.  This year I am going to read every word of this bible.  I want to absorb as much as I can absorb and share what I learn to my friends.  God you are our Creator, our Abba Father, that loves us more than I can even imagine. Take me on this journey and I look forward what you will reveal to me, give me wisdom and understanding.  In Jesus name I pray....Amen
