FORTY DAYS OF LOVE

DAY 1 - ASH WEDNESDAY

SCRIPTURE
But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation

God's unfailing love rejoices when we seek his salvation.  This Ash Wednesday night, I kneel at the alter answering the pastor's question as she marks my head with ashes "Do you repent of your sins and start following Christ?" I answer "Yes"...renewing my vows of my salvation.  I sit here thinking about my answer to that question and realizing the importance of this question.  My brain said yes but my heart worries if I can stand up to this promise.  It seems that I constantly try to be a better Christian and seem to fail unmerciful.  But due to God's unfailing love and forgiveness he doesn't give up when I fail.  I often wonder why he even tries to keep me in his mist.   Oh but I'm so thankful that he does.

PRAYER
Dear God, I do trust in your unfailing love.  I'm so ever thankful for you forgiveness.  As I start this Lent season, help me walk in your salvation and love so that I can be the christian you want me to be.  In Jesus name I pray....AMEN
